The Dish, a casual/fine dining restaurant at 205 N. 10th St., in Downtown Boise, closed on Friday, Sept. 23, after three years.

Owner Brian McGill, who also owns Willowcreek Grill and Raw Sushi on Vista Avenue, says he’s working on a new concept for that space that will open around the first of the year.

With a modernist decor and eclectic wine list, The Dish opened in July 2013 with chef and co-owner Jered Couch’s vision of fusion-contemporary comfort food on the menu. Couch left earlier this year to head the banquet program at Jack’s Urban Meeting Place (JUMP) for Thomas Cuisine.

Couch, who grew up in Boise, originally came up with The Dish concept for a small bistro he ran from 2002 to 2005 at LakeHarbor in West Boise.
