5 Things To Do This Weekend in Boise

When will Joanna Newsom be a judge on NBC’s “The Voice”? It has to happen, right?

1. STAY INDIE

Treefort is over for another year. But indie vibes will flow like Joanna Newsom’s hair when the singer and harpist flutters into the Egyptian Theatre on Friday. Critics LOOOVE her latest album. (I can’t get past her vocals, but go figure. I also LOOOVE The Darkness.) Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes opens this concert. [Tickets]

2. HAVE A BEER

The Central Addition Block Party happens from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Third and Broad streets. Boise Brewing will offer tastings, George’s Cycles will celebrate its new spot with bike demos, food trucks will offer lunch, and local band Sunset Goat will perform.

3. HAVE ANOTHER BEER

It’s anniversary-party time Saturday at County Line Brewing, 9115 W. Chinden Blvd. It will host a “Cheers to One Year” celebration starting at noon. In addition to lining up 10 beers to pour, County Line has invited food trucks. Local cover group The Big Wow Band will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. on the patio.

4. COOK UP A LAUGH

Los Angeles-based comedian Bryan Cook is a liberal. He’s also a really, really tough comedian. According to him. Either way, he’s funny, and he’s headlining all weekend at Liquid Laughs. [Tickets]

5. HIT THE MARKET

Just in time for this beautiful weather, the Boise Farmers Market is reopening Saturday at 10th and Grove streets. With all sorts of mouthwatering options in store, it looks like another great season.

BONUS: HAVE YET ANOTHER BEER

Hey, um, Ballast Point Brewing is taking over Albertsons growler stations this weekend. Figured I’d better mention that.
