‘Good Morning America’ to broadcast live from ‘beautiful’ Boise. When, where
Prepare for more incoming U-Hauls, Idaho.
ABC’s long-running show “Good Morning America” will broadcast from Boise on Friday. It’s part of the show’s yearlong “50 States in 50 Weeks: America the Beautiful” series.
And, no, the focus won’t be on the Gem State’s rapid population growth.
In a segment expected to last a few minutes, ABC News reporter Will Ganss will preview this weekend’s YMCA Famous Idaho Potato Marathon & Fun Runs. “He’s going to be live from a spot along the course on Friday,” an ABC News spokesperson explained, “ahead of the race on Saturday.”
Just in time for the entire nation to see perfect spring weather. In our admittedly gorgeous City of Trees.
“50 States in 50 Weeks” launched last year in honor of the 50th anniversary of “Good Morning America,” as well as the coming 250th anniversary of the United States. Following the order each state joined the union, an anchor or correspondent has gone on the road to showcase its personality.
“Good Morning America,” which airs from 7 to 9 a.m. weekdays, reaches nearly 3 million viewers.
Yikes. That’s almost a million more than the population of Idaho.
The “50 States in 50 Weeks” series “is a chance for us to explore the country and share stories that reflect the heart of each state,” Simone Swink, senior executive producer of “Good Morning America,” explained in a press release. “We’re looking forward to meeting people, highlighting what makes each state special, and proudly keeping the ‘A’ in ‘GMA.’ ”
