Switching gears, Boise’s lone food truck park throws plan in reverse: ‘Pray for us’
Plans for Boise’s lone food truck park to become bigger and better this spring have screeched to a halt.
Green Acres Food Truck Park will not move to a roomier new location as announced in January.
Instead, Green Acres will stay put at 14th Street and Shoreline Drive — its original, seasonal spot for the past four years. Opening day is May 2.
“Long story short, it has been difficult getting our permits,” Green Acres explained Friday on social media, adding, “we did not anticipate all of the hurdles and cost prohibitive roadblocks that would pop up for this new property.”
The relocation would have been just a few minutes east along the Boise Greenbelt in a large grassy area behind Payette Brewing Co.
“We’re going to continue to work on getting our permits for the new property and our goal is to move there for next season (we’ll keep everyone updated)!” Green Acres wrote. “Pray for us.
“Anyway, it’s been a stressful past couple of months but we’re sooo happy to be able to stay in our original spot. We are stoked for this season and cannot wait to open.”
Rotating trucks and live music are the draw at Green Acres, which is a dog- and kid-friendly hangout. After kicking off the season next month, it’s slated to remain open through Oct. 12.
