This comedy star sold out the Idaho Center twice. Now he’ll do an ‘intimate’ Boise show

Kevin Hart is headed back to the Treasure Valley — but this time to Boise.

After selling out the Ford Idaho Center in 2018 and again in 2022, Hart will headline Saturday, April 19, at Idaho Central Arena in downtown Boise.

Fewer than 4,500 seats will be available — roughly half the number that were available for Idaho Center shows. “Intimate setting, for sure,” said Creston Thornton, president of promoter Live Nation’s mountain region.

Tickets become available to the general public starting at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster for $42 to $202. Special guests to be announced will open for Hart.

A massive celebrity, Hart, 45, is riding high on a career that went next-level more than a decade ago. Hart has achieved levels of success that most comedians only dream of when it comes to movies, television and industry accolades. He even sold out a stadium — 53,000 tickets at Lincoln Financial Field in his hometown of Philadelphia in 2015.

Idaho Central Arena in downtown Boise can hold about 5,000 concertgoers at its maximum capacity. Kevin Hart’s show will be set up for about 4,500.

When Time magazine named Hart one of its “100 Most Influential People” that year, fellow comedian Chris Rock wrote a short essay about Hart’s gifts.

“After he makes you laugh for an hour, you feel like you’re his friend — you feel his joy and his pain,” Rock wrote. “If he has asthma, you have asthma. That’s because Kevin’s vulnerable. When he’s talking about his kids, his kids know more than him. He’s not afraid to be ‘father knows less.’ That makes him a new kind of cool. Not a keep-a-distance-from-the-audience kind of cool, but a lovable, show-your-warts kind of cool.

“In Kevin’s comedy, there’s the minute observations of Jerry Seinfeld, the family-oriented storytelling of Bill Cosby and the open-wound honesty of Richard Pryor. But mostly there’s a lot of Kevin Hart.”
