‘It’s huge’: This superstar’s sold-out tour is coming for outdoor concert in ’24, Boise
International star Hozier is coming to Idaho next year.
The Irish singer-songwriter — best known for his breakout smash “Take Me to Church” a decade ago — will headline an outdoor concert Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024, at the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at noon next Friday — Nov. 17 — for $39.50 to $99.50 through fordidahocenter.com.
The Nampa concert is part of an extension of Hozier’s massively successful “Unreal Unearth” tour. The North American headlining trek began Sept. 9 and sold out across the board, including at iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden and two nights at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Hozier’s last visit to the Treasure Valley was a sold-out show, too — in 2019 at the modest, 999-capacity Knitting Factory in Boise.
This one will be .... bigger.
“It’s huge,” said Creston Thornton, president of promoter Live Nation’s mountain region. “He is selling out all major arenas.”
Known for his blend of folk, rock and soul, the Grammy-nominated singer recently released his third album, “Unreal Unearth,” to critical acclaim this year. “Hozier isn’t just growing as an artist,” Rolling Stone wrote, “he’s being reborn.” It provided him with two straight #1 songs on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart for the first time: “Eat Your Young” and “Francesca.”
Originally born Andrew Hozier-Byrne, the 33-year-old has sold more than a million tickets worldwide and racked up over 14 billion streams. His fans not only love the multi-instrumentalist’s music and captivating voice. They love his message.
“This dyed-in-the-wool troubadour has never shied away from social commentary,” a media release declares, “addressing injustices suffered by the LGBTQ+ community, women’s rights, domestic violence, climate change, and the endless fight for social justice.”
