When comedian Bill Burr last visited Boise in 2017, he sold out the Egyptian Theatre — twice.

Don’t expect to see him there again. Ever.

Even then, that was a small room for Burr, a man Rolling Stone once described as “the undisputed heavyweight champ of rage-fueled humor.”

Burr’s “(Slight Return)” tour will roll into the Ford Idaho Center on Dec. 8. It’s billed officially as a “2022 arena and amphitheater tour.” Large-scale venues are where Burr now performs. After all, he’s sold out places such as Madison Square Garden in New York City and the Royal Albert Hall in London, England.

In August, he will become the first stand-up comic to headline at Fenway Park. Burr, 53, was born and raised in the Boston area.

He is famous not only as a comedian, but as an actor, podcast host and writer. He played a seedy character in the smash AMC series “Breaking Bad.” Most recently, Burr created and provided the starring voice in the animated Netflix sitcom “F Is for Family.”

Tickets to Burr’s Nampa arena performance — which will include special guests — go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for $50, $60, $80 and $105 (golden circle) at fordidahocenter.com or cttouringid.com.
