This band drew 6,500 fans here last summer and ‘just keeps growing,’ Boise. It’s returning
When it comes to how often Dirty Heads visit Idaho, “too much of a good thing” might come to mind.
Wrong. The Southern California band clearly abides by a different saying: Don’t mess with success.
Increasingly familiar in the Boise market, Dirty Heads will return to the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater for a second consecutive summer. The reggae-rock group will headline a concert Tuesday, June 28, with openers SOJA, Tribal Seeds and the Elovaters.
Last August, Dirty Heads played Nampa’s outdoor venue with Sublime with Rome. The easygoing vibes and breezy melodies resulted in a surprisingly popular evening.
“The show did over 6,500 people,” promoter Creston Thornton of Live Nation said, “and they just keep growing.”
On the other hand, Dirty Heads’ sound is sort of made for the outdoors, right?
“I wouldn’t be surprised if we did almost 8,000 people this time,” Thornton added, “based on the growth. It’s a great show.”
Dirty Heads’ arrow has been pointing up for several years. The band sold out the 2,200-capacity Revolution Concert House and Event Center twice in Garden City, Thornton said. This will be Dirty Heads’ third appearance at the Idaho Center Amphitheater.
Tickets to Dirty Heads will be available starting at 10 a.m. Friday, April 1, at fordidahocenter.com, for $39.50 (first 100 sold), $45 (second 100) and $49.50 normal general admission. Concertgoers will pay $55 day of show.
Located at 16114 N. Idaho Center Blvd. in Nampa, the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater is filling up its 2022 schedule. Other shows: Slightly Stoopid and Pepper on July 8, The Goo Goo Dolls and Blue October on July 15, Kenny Chesney with Carly Pearce on July 27, Dispatch, O.A.R and G. Love on July 28, The Chicks with Patty Griffin on Aug. 6, Morgan Wallen on Sept. 9, Flogging Molly with The Interrupters on Sept. 14, Foreigner on Sept. 21 and Odesza on Sept. 27.
