A ‘monster’ outdoor concert is coming, Boise. It just sold 33,000 tickets in Seattle

Electronic dance music fans in Boise have at least one must-see concert this summer.

So does any Idahoan craving a brain-melting outdoor spectacle.

Coming off a three-year touring hiatus, beat-pumping duo Odesza will make a Treasure Valley stop at the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater on Tuesday, Sept. 27. Sylvan Esso, Elderbrook and Nasaya will open. Music will kick off at 6:30 p.m.

Formed in Bellingham, Washington, in 2012, Odesza has grown into a massive international draw. Before taking a break from touring, the duo was averaging 12,415 tickets sold per night in 2019, according to promoter Creston Thornton of Live Nation.

Odesza is bringing a “huge” stage show, he said — the Idaho Center Amphitheater’s largest-ever EDM production. The group is known for high-energy, visceral performances.

“This is going to be a monster of an EDM show,” Thornton said.

Fans on Odesza’s Facebook page underscore that promise.

“I remember watching this,” a commenter posted under a concert photo, “and thinking omg the stage is massive and the exposure is going to be unprecedented. And then you brought out the drones, and I completely lost my s***. You are guys are obviously paving the way for everyone with the creativity.”

Odesza recently put consecutive nights on sale at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. Tickets vanished within minutes, Thornton said. So they added a third show. It sold out, too. “33,000 tickets, three shows,” Thornton said.

Tickets to the Nampa concert become available starting at 10 a.m. Friday, April 1, at fordidahocenter.com for $39.50 (first 1,000 sold), $45 (second 1,000), $49.50 (next 6,000), then $55.

Located at 16114 N. Idaho Center Blvd. in Nampa, the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater is filling up its 2022 schedule. Other shows: Dirty Heads with SOJA on June 28, Slightly Stoopid and Pepper on July 8, The Goo Goo Dolls and Blue October on July 15, Kenny Chesney with Carly Pearce on July 27, Dispatch, O.A.R and G. Love on July 28, The Chicks with Patty Griffin on Aug. 6, Morgan Wallen on Sept. 9, Flogging Molly with The Interrupters on Sept. 14 and Foreigner on Sept. 21.

Other new shows

The Revolution Concert House and Event Center, 4983 N. Glenwood St., Garden City, also just announced two new concerts. Both go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 1, at cttouringid.com.

Rapper-singer Kid Ink (and his 100-plus tattoos) will perform Saturday, May 7. Tickets are $40 general admission, $100 upstairs VIP, or $120 general admission with meet-and-greet. Kid Ink’s mainstream breakout smash in 2013, “Show Me” with Chris Brown, has racked up over 311 million YouTube views.

Rapper-singer Doobie — of “When the Drugs Don’t Work” fame — will perform Friday, July 15. Casket will open the show. Tickets are $20 general admission, $25 day of show. Upstairs VIP tickets are $45. General admission with meet-and-greet is $120.
