Outlaw Field adds two more summer concerts — 13 and counting, Boise. Two are sold out

With the pandemic limiting concerts over the past two years, music fans are itching to get out again and see live performances.

The Idaho Botanical Garden’s Outlaw Field is happy to oblige.

The outdoor venue just announced two more summer concerts: indie-rock band Mt. Joy on Monday, Aug. 15, and country crossover singer-songwriter Maren Morris on Friday, Aug. 19.

Tickets to Mt. Joy go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Ticketmaster.com for $45 standard general admission, $40 Garden member, $92 suite. A presale for Garden members starts at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 9.

Tickets to Morris go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 11, also at Ticketmaster — for $65 Garden member, $70 standard general admission, $140 suite. A presale for Garden members started at 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 8.

Wilderado will be the opening act for Mt. Joy. The Lone Bellow will open at the Morris show.

Mt. Joy has been on a rapid ascent since releasing its self-titled debut album in 2018. Songs such as “Silver Lining,” “Jenny Jenkins” and “Strangers” have received airplay on Triple-A format radio stations such as 94.9 FM The River in Boise. When Mt. Joy last played Idaho’s capital city, in 2021, it was the first act to request proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result for fans at the Knitting Factory Concert House. The gig at the 999-capacity venue sold out, anyway.

Morris, best known for her smash “The Bones,” mixes country music with R&B and other styles. A Grammy winner, she’s had nine Top 10 songs on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and four No. 1 hits on its Country Airplay chart.

Outlaw Field is located on the Botanical Garden property at 2355 N. Old Penitentiary Road.

It now has 13 shows on its 2022 calendar — and two have sold out in advance.

In addition to the latest announcements, here’s the itinerary: Lord Huron on May 29, Ween on June 28, The Avett Brothers on July 12 (sold out), Khruangbin on July 13, Rainbow Kitten Surprise on July 15, Whiskey Myers, Shane Smith & The Saints and 49 Winchester on Aug. 7 (sold out), The Head and the Heart on Aug. 9, Bonnie Raitt with Mavis Staples on Aug. 14, The Black Crowes on Aug. 16, Modest Mouse on Aug. 29 and the Tedeschi Trucks Band on Aug. 31.
