This band set a record for most No. 1 mainstream rock hits. It’s coming to a Boise arena
If you like bands that deliver lots of hits in concert, mark your calendar for spring 2022.
Multiplatinum rock quartet Shinedown will headline a show Saturday, April 2, at ExtraMile Arena at Boise State University. The Revolution’s Live Tour also will include opening acts the Pretty Reckless and Diamante.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster for $39.50-$79.50. There’s a fan club presale at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Venue and radio presales start at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Check shinedown.com for more details.
Cranking out melodic, riff-filled albums, Shinedown has grown into a massive success during its two-decade career. Formed in 2001 in Jacksonville, Florida, the group quickly became a rock radio staple. In 2020, Shinedown set a new record for the most songs on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart. Shinedown’s hit “Atlas Falls” became its 16th single to reach No. 1 on the chart. That’s more than any other act. All 27 of Shinedown’s singles on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart have shot up to the top five. The band has sold more than 10 million albums.
“The new tour announcement comes on the heels of the recent RIAA gold certification of Shinedown’s 2018 record-breaking studio album ‘Attention Attention,’ ” according to a press release. “The band’s chart-topping and sixth full-length record, featuring hits such as crossover anthem ‘Get Up,’ the explosive ‘Monsters,’ RIAA certified gold hit ‘Devil,’ the rousing “The Human Radio” and title track ‘Attention Attention,’ has accumulated more than 622 million global streams, debuted Top 5 on the Billboard 200, simultaneously hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative, Top Rock and Hard Rock Albums Charts, and led to five iHeart Radio Music Award nominations.”
Shinedown last visited Boise in 2019, when it performed at ExtraMile Arena. Next year’s April 2 show is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
The Shinedown concert is the second show recently announced at ExtraMile Arena. Classic rocker Santana will bring his Blessings and Miracles Tour to the venue on Saturday, March 26, 2022.
