Updated: Boise restaurants are closing again. Here are 10 more coronavirus shutdowns

Editors’s note: This article has been updated to reflect additional closures.

Cars passed slowly through the Dutch Bros Coffee drive-thru Monday as confused motorists encountered a sign on the window.

“Temporarily closed,” it said. “We will reopen once safe for our crew and customers. Thank you!”

The list of Boise restaurants shuttering is piling up quickly because of coronavirus fears.

Last week, the Statesman reported that Bittercreek Alehouse, 13th Street Pub & Grill and 10 Barrel Brewing Co. had temporarily closed. 10 Barrel reopened Friday, and Bittercreek plans to return to action Tuesday.

But several more restaurants have joined the pack of recent COVID-19 closures. Here are some of the latest. Check the businesses’ Facebook pages for details about when employees with confirmed cases worked, and for updates on when they might reopen.

Dutch Bros Coffee, 1423 W. State St. and 101 S. Orchard St., has not shared details about their closures on social media. But signs are posted at both locations.

Boise Fry Co. shuttered all of its Boise locations Sunday after a staff member at the downtown store, 204 N. Capitol Blvd., tested positive for coronavirus. “Their last shift was on Wednesday, June 17,” the restaurant wrote on Facebook.

Tin Roof Tacos, 115 S. Broadway Ave., posted Friday that an employee had tested positive.

Bardenay Restaurant & Distillery, 610 W. Grove St, announced Friday that “a couple of employees have tested positive and others are still being tested as a precautionary measure.”

Txikiteo, 175 N. 14th St., posted Friday that it was temporarily closing dine-in and takeout operations “due to the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases in the downtown Boise service industry.”

The Modern Hotel and Bar, 1314 W. Grove St., has closed its restaurant and bar after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. It posted an explanation online: “While we are certain this person took every precaution while at work — wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, and with no-contact ordering in place — we have notified anyone who was in the Modern Bar and Restaurant on Tuesday, June 16, through Thursday, June 18, that there may have been potential exposure to this staff member, and have encouraged them to be tested.”

The Modern Hotel remains open.

Lemon Tree Co., 224 N. 10th St., had a part-time staff member test positive. “We are temporarily closing until further notice for deep cleaning,” the restaurant posted Monday on Facebook, “and to allow our whole team to receive the results of their tests, being administered later today.”

Edge Brewing Co., 205 N. 10th St., has temporarily closed its downtown pub “due to the increase of COVID cases in the downtown area,” it wrote Monday on Facebook.

The Melting Pot, 200 N. 6th St., announced Tuesday that it has temporarily closed after becoming aware of “a team member who tested positive for COVID-19.”

Yen Ching, 305 N. 9th St., is closed “for the short term” after learning Monday that one of the employees tested positive.
