Borah’s llaisa Makaafi jumps over one of his blockers on a run against Rocky Mountain. Steve Conner Photography

Borah quarterback Jake Standlee scored on a 1-yard run with 3:37 remaining before halftime, and kicker Eden Makaafi’s extra point proved to be the difference in a 7-6 win over Rocky Mountain on Friday night at Dona Larsen Park.

Rocky Mountain responded with senior running back Carter Kuehl’s 7-yard TD run about 25 seconds later, but the two-point conversion failed.

Borah’s defense held the 5A SIC’s highest scoring team without a touchdown in the second half as defensive backs Cory Lewis and Jacob Batubenga each grabbed interceptions.

Standlee went 23 of 34 passing for 188 yards without an interception and the Lions’ only score, while Ilaisa Makaafi ate up 133 yards on the ground on 36 carries.

Quarterback Will McMullin rushed for 65 yards and passed for 158 to lead Rocky’s offensive charge.

Kuna 54, Centennial 42

The Kavemen and Patriots traded shots all night, with four ties but no lead changes. Caden Cobb and Danny Rogers combined for 375 yards rushing and five touchdowns for Kuna, and Jerome Miller had 141 yards receiving and a score. Rogers threw for 243 yards and two scores.

Centennial QB Dayne Koch threw for 185 yards and a score, and rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns.

Meridian 27, Boise 7

Nate Weddle passed for 250 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another score in Meridian’s win over Boise.

Samaje Woodall added one rushing TD for the Warriors, and Jack Molesworth accounted for Boise’s only score.

Mountain View 53, Columbia 12

The Mavericks rolled at home in a 5A SIC game. No further information was available.

Eagle 35, Timberline 21

Quarterback Devan Bridgewater accounted for all five touchdowns — three rushing and two passing — including two in the fourth quarter that allowed the Mustangs to pull away from a 21-21 tie.

Bridgewater finished 18-of-29 for 249 yards passing and ran for 44 yards. Nick Williams caught both TD passes and Luke Favillo rushed for 143 yards for Eagle.

Ed Osterberger rushed for 210 yards to lead Timberline, including a 75-yard scoring run.

Skyview 55, Caldwell 0

Skyview invoked the mercy rule in the third quarter of its 4A SIC win against Caldwell.

Wade Carpenter caught the first three touchdown passes for the Hawks, finishing with a game-leading five receptions for 139 yards.

Skyview QB Wyatt Storer completed 21 of 28 passes for 309 yards and five scores to keep the Hawks unbeaten.

Middleton 38, Ridgevue 19

Mitchell Beitia scored on a 63-yard run and a 32-yard interception return in the first quarter to give Middleton a lead it never surrendered.

Beitia finished with 144 rushing yards, and Darin Post passed for one TD and ran for two more scores to keep the Vikings perfect in 4A SIC action.

Michael Sondermann paced Ridgevue with 150 yards and two TDs on 19 carries.

Vallivue 48, Mountain Home 6

The Falcons ran for 365 yards, jumped out to a 48-0 lead after three quarters and invoked the mercy rule to rout Mountain Home.

Quarterback Lan Larison led Vallivue (3-3, 1-3 4A SIC) with 138 yards and three TDs on nine carries. Nick Fox added 129 yards and three TDs on eight carries.

Weiser 35, Parma 7

Parma took the early lead on the Wolverines, but Braden Bumgarner wouldn’t be denied with 225 yards and two rushing touchdowns to go with an interception.

The Weiser defense stifled the Panthers offensive attack, forcing three turnovers and surrendering only 213 total yards.

Melba 19, Cole Valley Christian 16

The Mustangs pulled away from the Chargers with a safety and field goal in the third quarter of their road victory.

Scott Martinez paced Melba with 81 yards on 14 carries, while Garrett Kranz had 50 yards on 11 carries and a fourth-quarter score for Cole Valley.

Wilder 16, Rimrock 6

Ezequiel Vargas stole the show in this 1A Division I showdown with two rushing touchdowns of more than 15 yards to give the Wildcats a lead they never relinquished.

Pablo Martinez had a fourth-quarter pick-six, but it wasn’t enough as Wilder kept the Rimrock offensive attack under wraps, surrendering just 64 total yards.

New Plymouth 34, Marsing 0

Kobe Roberts had four touchdowns on 11 pass attempts in an uber-efficient night that saw only two of his throws hit the ground.

Seth Mowder opened up the scoring from a yard out and steadily paced the Pilgrims with 75 yards and a score on 23 carries to inch out Roberts’ 74 on 14.

Garrett Powell, L.J. Travis, Tanner Butler, and Deveon Rodriguez all notched a touchdown and over 30 yards receiving, while Travis Jackson had an interception for New Plymouth.

Fruitland 31, Homedale 15

Fruitland piled up 519 yards of offense, all but 67 of it on the ground, and scored in every quarter to pull away from the Trojans.

Noah Hattrup rushed for 105 yards, Jordan Eggers had 89 and Cole Eiguren added 77 for the Grizzlies. Each scored a touchdown.

THURSDAY’S GAMES

CAPITAL 51, NAMPA 13

The Capital High football team racked up 508 yards of offense en route to a blowout victory over Nampa at Dona Larsen Park for the Eagles’ third straight win.

Capital (4-1, 2-0 5A SIC Pod A) ran all over the Nampa defense for 353 yards, averaging 7.5 yards per carry, to trigger the mercy-rule running clock at the start of the fourth quarter.

Sam Sessou-Djokoto led Capital with 94 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries, and Tavita Reupena added 72 yards and two more scores on 11 carries.

Capital’s defense held Nampa (1-5, 0-2) to 165 yards and 10 first downs. It also recorded a second-quarter safety.

Stevie Dina ran for one of Nampa’s TDs, and Braden Minor threw a 27-yard TD pass to Karter Melad for the other.
