Boise High football team walks to game, sprints to victory
An improvisation started out of necessity has since become tradition at Boise High.
When buses did not arrive for the football team’s first game at Dona Larsen Park in 2012, coach Bob Clark decided the Braves would walk instead.
Four years later, that one-mile stroll is simply a part of the Braves’ game-day routine, which culminated Friday night with a 41-30 victory over crosstown rival Timberline.
Braves quarterback Will McMullin threw four touchdown passes, and Drew Theobald and Ramon Booker each returned interceptions for a score in a game Boise led by as many as 34 points at the start of the fourth quarter.
