Mountain View’s Slocum named to All-American game

Mountain View High senior point guard Destiny Slocum was named to the West team for this year’s McDonald’s All-American Game.

The teams were announced live on ESPNU on Sunday night. The game will be played March 30 at the United Center in Chicago. The 15th annual girls game tips off at 4:30 p.m., followed by the 39th annual boys game at 7 p.m.

The girls game will be broadcast on ESPNU. On Saturday, Slocum reached a career milestone, scoring 22 points in a win over Boise to surpass 2,000 points in a Mavericks uniform. The four-year starter has signed with Maryland.
