Mountain View senior point guard Destiny Slocum was running out of time to reach the threshold Saturday, mired at 1,999 career points with less than two minutes to go in a 72-46 win at Boise High. She missed her first chance at the milestone. Then the next.

But the Maryland signee snatched a rebound with a minute left and put it back up, finally passing the milestone and exiting to an ovation with 2,001 points to her name.

Slocum, who scored 22 points, also finished one assist shy of a triple double with 12 rebounds and nine assists.
