Eagle only Idaho softball team to appear in final MaxPreps national rankings
A year after becoming the first Idaho softball team to assume the No. 1 ranking in the nation, three-time 5A state champion Eagle finished No. 48 in the final 2017 CBS MaxPreps Xcellent 50 rankings.
The Mustangs won their final 17 games of the season, culminating with a 4-3 victory over Lake City in May for their third state title in a row and eighth in program history.
Over the past three seasons, the Mustangs have posted a record of 88-3.
Los Alamitos (Calif.) was crowned the 2017 MaxPreps national champion. The Griffins won California’s Interscholastic Federation Southern Section D1 title and finished 28-3.
