Idaho Gov. Otter undergoes 2 back surgeries

Gov. Butch Otter underwent surgery to address a bulging disk in his back on July 7, according to his office spokesman.

He went home the following day to recover, but after further testing a second surgery was scheduled for Friday.

Otter will continue doing some state business via telephone and working closely with his office, according to the governor’s office.

No meetings or events were reportedly scheduled in the coming week that he will miss and his office said he will return to work as soon as possible.
