Couple who triggered Amber Alert last month now in Canyon jail
Jason T. Simon, 38-year-old father of one of the kids, is held on $1 million bond and faces 12 felony child pornography charges and one charge of felony child sexual abuse.
Sarah Joy Dunn, 36, adoptive mother of the other two, faces a felony charge of custodial interference, and her bond is set at $250,000.
Caldwell police say the couple fled in early June to avoid the charges against Simon, taking his 6-year-old son Kaydn along with Louie Dunn, 10, and Kaylee Dunn, 9. Sarah Dunn did not have her ex-husband's permission to take the children, police said.
An Amber Alert was issued, and police tracked the couple via their financial card transactions. They were arrested, and the children recovered, at a Colorado campground on June 18.
Simon is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 16, and Dunn's preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 3. The Dunn children are with their adoptive father, and Simon's son is with a grandparent.
