Caldwell Police Department released an image of the vehicle they believe the suspect in the shooting was driving.

The victim, a 22-year-old resident of Ontario, Ore., walked into a hospital emergency room at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday with a gunshot wound, Caldwell police said Wednesday.

They believe the man was shot after an argument at an unspecified business in Nampa. They’re looking for the gunman: a 20- to 30-year-old man with fair skin driving a dark gray 2010s Chevrolet Malibu, with tinted windows, black custom wheels and chrome trim around the windows. The vehicle may also still have a dealer license plate.

CPD urged the public to contact police right away if they spot the vehicle because the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, according to CPD.

The Ontario man’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Investigators believe that after the argument, the Ontario man got in his car and left the Nampa business. The suspected shooter followed.

The suspect then shot the Ontario man when they were near Santa Ana Avenue and Blue Springs Street, across Ustick Road from Sage Valley Middle School.

Police said Wednesday morning they don’t yet know what kind of firearm was used, nor if the incident was gang-related. The victim apparently did not want to pursue criminal charges.
