Meridian woman faces manslaughter charges after fatal four-car crash

A Meridian woman faces felony vehicular manslaughter charges after a crash that killed a 73-year-old woman Thursday.

Shelly Wilson, 52, of Meridian, rear-ended Patricia Ann Shannon’s Buick, which was stopped in traffic on Fairview Avenue just east of Eagle Road about 1:20 p.m., according to Meridian Police. There was no indication Wilson had slowed down before the collision, according to police. Two other cars also were caught up in the crash.

Shannon died at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

Wilson was taken to a hospital. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
