Kuna brush fire now stretches 290 acres, nearing containment
A Thursday fire outside Kuna started around 2:56 p.m. and by 7 p.m. had spread to more than 290 acres on Kuna Butte.
The fire, called the Murphy Lane Fire, was 80 percent contained around 7 p.m. and full containment was expected by 11 p.m., according to the Bureau of Land Management.
There were no structures damaged and no evacuations were put in place. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
When the blaze was still growing, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office warned Thursday afternoon that a brush fire near Kuna Cave Road should be avoided by traffic.
