Capital football hosts Rocky Mountain on Thursday
The No. 2 picks in both pods in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference’s preseason coaches’ polls square off at Dona Larsen Park at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Both teams are coming off high-scoring performances in Week 1. Rocky Mountain rallied to edge Utah’s Pleasant Grove 51-50 in triple overtime at Pocatello’s Holt Arena with junior Carter Kuehl running for 264 yards and five touchdowns. Capital blew out rival Borah 47-6 as senior quarterback Drew Korf racked up 291 yards of offense and five total TDs.
Rocky Mountain leads the all-time series 3-2 and has scored 99 points in the past two meetings.
