Post Falls High football coach battling cancer dies
Jeff Hinz, who has led the Trojans for 12 years, died after a nearly three-year battle with cancer Wednesday. He was 45.
A week ago, Hinz suffered a massive stroke, spending a week in the hospital before transferring to a hospice facility Tuesday.
The Coeur d’Alene High graduate led Post Falls to a 52-58 record and made the playoffs for the first time in 2014. Hinz took a leave of absence from coaching in the spring, replaced by Blaine Bennett.
