Coming Sunday: 40th annual All-Idaho Football Teams

The Idaho Statesman’s All-Idaho special section features the 5A through 1A Players of the Year — including three from the Treasure Valley — as well as profiles on those top five players and the 120 first-team players from throughout Idaho.

Coaches throughout the state nominated their own players for the All-Idaho team, then voted on a ballot of their classification’s nominations. They selected the player of the year, the top 11 offensive players, the top 11 defensive players and the top kicker and punter.

The Idaho Statesman then counts the votes and writes the player of the year stories and the first-team capsules. Second-team members are also chosen from the results of the coaches’ ballot.
