1A All-Idaho football team: The top players from the state’s smallest schools

Note: The All-Idaho teams are chosen by a vote of the state’s coaches. The Idaho Statesman publishes the results.

1A ALL-IDAHO FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Stockton Sears, Carey

Opposing defenses had trouble containing the 5-foot-8, 167-pound senior, who racked up 2,349 rushing yards and 34 touchdowns for an average of 15.2 yards per carry. He also added 15 receptions for 191 yards and two more scores and was a standout on defense with 130 tackles and three interceptions.

“Outrageous numbers and great attitude and leadership,” Sho-Ban coach Adam Reed said. “Tough to bring down, even tougher to prepare for.”

COACH OF THE YEAR

John Saili, Carey

Led the Panthers to an 11-1 record and the ninth state title in program history, including two in a row.

ALL-STATE FIRST TEAM

OFFENSE

QB: Cooper Miller, Wallace

The dual-threat sophomore totaled 4,609 yards and 74 TDs, passing for 3,073 yards and rushing for 1,536.

RB: Riley Davis, Salmon River

The 5-11, 180-pound senior had 177 carries for 1,498 yards and 30 TDs, plus 593 receiving yards and 4 more scores.

RB: Zachary Permann, Rockland

Was a threat to run or catch, recording 1,390 rushing yards and 1,043 receiving yards for 31 total TDs.

WR: Henry Larson, Wallace

A consistent matchup problem, the 5-11, 175-pound junior had 68 receptions for 1,336 yards and 19 TDs.

TE: Gabriel Saili, Carey

The 6-1, 186-pound senior was a great blocker, and caught 31 passes for 498 yards and nine touchdowns.

OL: Gavin Long, Carey

The 6-1, 280-pound senior center helped the state champs amass 3,451 rushing yards and 1,161 passing yards.

OL: Remington Crowell, Council

At 6-3, 245 pounds, the junior racked up 28 pancake blocks and paved the way for Council’s 4,257 yards.

OL: Wrangler Marcroft, Carey

The 6-0, 189-pound senior guard was a part of Carey’s state championship team that totaled 4,612 yards.

K: Will Parke, Carey

The senior orchestrated eight successful onside kicks for the state champs and accounted for five touchbacks.

DEFENSE

DL: Gabriel Saili, Carey

A two-way first-teamer, the senior recorded 137 tackles, 22 sacks, 27 tackles-for-loss and forced two fumbles.

DL: Reece Williams, Wallace

The 6-3, 205-pound junior posted 101 tackles, 19 tackles-for-loss, nine sacks and three forced fumbles.

DL: Eli Noah, Tri-Valley

The 5-10, 190-pound senior collected 53 tackles, 10 tackles-for-loss, five sacks and recovered three fumbles.

LB: Will Parke, Carey

Always around the ball, the 5-11, 178-pound senior amassed 148 tackles, 17 tackles-for-loss and seven sacks.

LB: Marley Pearace, Wallace

Despite battling injuries, the junior recorded 141 tackles, 25 tackles-for-loss, six sacks and 14 QB hurries.

LB: Owen Hatfield, Council

The Long Pin Player of the Year totaled 83 tackles, 14 tackles-for-loss, three forced fumbles and two sacks.

DB: Madden Perkes, Carey

The 5-7, 155-pound junior had 79 tackles with 16 pass breakups, two tackles-for-loss and one forced fumble.

DB: Chase Norman, Dietrich

In eight games, the 5-8, 185-pound senior made 84 tackles with 16 pass breakups and four interceptions.

P: Cadden Hathaway, Camas County

The junior averaged 42 yards per punt, with a long of 48, including one punt downed inside the 20-yard line.
