Idaho high school football rankings: The state title favorites in each division

The Idaho high school playoffs are finally here. That gives the state’s media members one last chance to survey the field and declare the favorites in each classification.

The final poll of the season saw perennial underdog Timberline rise to No. 1 in the 6A rankings. The Wolves upset back-to-back No. 1 teams in Rocky Mountain and Eagle for the 6A SIC title, securing the league’s top seed in the playoffs. Now they enter the postseason with the most expectations in program history.

But a clear threat lies in Rigby, which actually received more first-place votes than the Wolves.

Moving down the classifications, Bishop Kelly ended the regular season as the No. 1-ranked 5A team for seven straight weeks. And Sugar-Salem (4A), Kendrick (2A) and Carey (1A) completed wire-to-wire runs as the top team in their classifications.
