2A All-Idaho football team: The top players from the state’s top 8-man classification
Note: The All-Idaho teams are chosen by a vote of the state’s coaches. The Idaho Statesman publishes the results.
2A ALL-IDAHO FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Sawyer Hewett, Kendrick
A threat to score every time he touched the ball on offense, defense and special teams, the senior running back and safety forced opponents to game plan specifically for him. Few of those plans worked though as the Idaho signee racked up 1,305 yards of offense and found the end zone 29 times to win his fourth straight state title.
“When healthy, there is no defense for his speed and athleticism,” Oakley coach Brennan Jones said.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Zane Hobart, Kendrick
The Tigers moved up a classification and still became just the third program to win four state titles in a row.

The 6-2, 220-pound senior returned from a torn labrum to anchor the state champs’ line and make the first team again.
OL: Bracken Powell, Butte County
The state runner-up ran for 325 yards per game thanks in large part to the 6-foot, 210-pound junior guard.
OL: Wyatt Cook, Kendrick
He made a sacrifice as a senior and moved to the offensive line, helping pave the way for 56.7 points per game.
K: Levi Hendriks, Butte County

LB: Rawson Twitchell, Butte County
The senior played everything from linebacker to end to nose guard while putting up 54 tackles and eight sacks.
LB: Xavier Carpenter, Kendrick
The leader of the state champs’ defense was a physical force that shed tacklers to find his way to the ball.

DB: David Kludt, Kamiah
The three-time, first-team selection intercepted eight passes this fall, boosting his career total to 25.
