Idaho football phenom, former Boise State commit, to play in all-star game. How to watch
The highest-rated football recruit in Idaho history will play in front of a national audience this weekend.
Burley High wide receiver Gatlin Bair was selected to play in the 24th edition of the All-American Bowl, which kicks off at 11 a.m. Mountain time Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The game will be televised live on NBC.
The annual East vs. West all-star game showcases the best high school players in the country, including three of the nation’s top 10 overall recruits and the No. 1 overall recruit — wide receiver and Ohio State commit Jeremiah Smith — according to 247Sports.
Bair committed to Boise State in August but withdrew his commitment after head coach Andy Avalos was fired in November. He is expected to announce his decision in February between Michigan and Oregon. Bair will serve a two-year mission with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before joining his college team, so he wouldn’t be on the field until 2026 at the earliest.
The four-star recruit is rated No. 36 overall nationally and No. 10 at his position, according to 247Sports.
In eight games his senior season, Bair had 52 catches for 832 yards and 10 touchdowns, while rushing for 148 yards and four more scores. He also had two return touchdowns. Last spring, he set state records in the 100 meters (10.15 seconds) and 200 meters (20.56 seconds) at the 4A state track and field meet.
