Idaho boys basketball rankings: These are the team to beat heading into in the new year

A bounty of winter break tournaments led to a reshuffling of the Idaho boys basketball state media poll, which released its first rankings of the new year Thursday.

Perhaps the largest surprise came in the state’s largest classification, with Madison finishing tied for first with powerhouse Owyhee.

The new year also saw seven teams make their debut in their classification’s rankings: Centennial (6A), Post Falls (6A), Sugar-Salem (4A), St. Maries (3A), Lapwai (2A), Riverstone (2A) and Notus (2A).
