Boys High School Basketball

Ex-Boise State, Washington player taking over Meridian High boys basketball team

Meridian High has hired Jeff Sanor to take over its boys basketball program next season, pending school board approval, Meridian Athletic Director Mike Graefe confirmed.

Sanor replaces Mike Chatterton, who led the Warriors to an 18-26 record in two seasons before resigning last week.

Sanor, 48, played college basketball at the University of Washington for three years from 1986-87 to 1988-89. The Boise High grad then finished his college career at Boise State in 1990-91, averaging 14.3 points and 3.4 assists a game.

He served as a varsity assistant at Boise High after college and has coached with various club basketball teams in the Treasure Valley, including Boise Slam since 2010. Meridian will be his first varsity head coaching job.

“I think Meridian has got the program going in a really good direction, and I thought the time was right,” Sanor said.
