GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Elise Barnes, Vallivue: Posted a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to 5A SIC leader Bishop Kelly in the final game of the regular season.
Bryley Tadman, Ambrose: With the Archers’ top two scorers facing double teams, Tadman stepped up with a season-best 13 points along with five rebounds, three steals and two assists in a district semifinal win over Marsing.
Aarey Harris, Parma: Had a pair of identical double-doubles in the district tournament with 20 points and 14 rebounds against both New Plymouth and Melba. She also added a combined seven assists, six steals and three blocks.
Ava Batt, Bishop Kelly: Averaged 10.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in three wins last week, including a 7-for-9 performance from 3-point range for 23 points in a senior night win against Vallivue.
Berkley Jones, Eagle: Averaged 35.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game to send the Mustangs to the district title game. She dropped 42 points in a semifinal win against Rocky Mountain on 16-for-20 shooting to go with nine rebounds and five steals.
Libby Nelson, Boise: Led the fifth-seeded Brave to an upset of No. 1 Middleton in the district semifinals with 21 points, including a 4-for-7 performance from 3-point range, with eight rebounds.
Raelynn Nickel, Vision Charter: Helped the Golden Eagles advance to the district title game with 21 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and seven steals against Wilder, and then had 19 points, seven steals, five rebounds and three assists against Rimrock.
Rylee Walters, Salmon River: After receiving a first-round bye, Walters led the Savages to the district title game with a team-leading 20 points in a win over Tri-Valley.
Emmi Swillie, Timberline: Helped the Wolves remain alive in the district tournament with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Mountain View.
Liv Sangsland, Rocky Mountain: Led the seventh-seeded Grizzlies to an upset of No. 2 Borah in the first round of the district tournament with 22 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
