GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Eden Francis, Capital: Averaged 11 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks to lead the Eagles to a 3-1 record with wins over Mountain View, Shelley and Windsor, Colorado.

Zoey Blackwell, Middleton: Averaged 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, five assists and 2.7 steals as the Vikings went 2-1 last week.

Kaylani Yzquierdo, Nampa: Racked up 27 points, six rebounds and seven steals in a 44-41 victory over Caldwell, the Bulldogs’ first home win since January 2023.

Emily Freeman, Caldwell: Averaged 9.7 points, 10 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in three games.

Tiana Sorenson, Homedale: Racked up 33 points and eight rebounds in a 67-60 overtime win over Compass Charter, including seven points in overtime. She averaged 21.7 points and seven rebounds at the Nyssa Holiday Tournament.

Aarey Harris, Parma: Averaged 21.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.5 steals in four games for the Panthers.

Payson Bratcher, Fruitland: Grabbed a steal and sank a lay-in with 5.2 seconds left to lift the Grizzlies to a 45-43 win over Jordan Valley, Oregon, and cap a 14-point effort.

Raelynn Nickel, Vision Charter: Posted back-to-back games with double-digit steals, averaging 23 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and 11.5 steals in wins over Notus and Horseshoe Bend.

Sophia Deasy, Compass Charter: Finished one rebound shy of a triple-double with 19 points, nine rebounds and 13 steals in a 55-20 win over Centennial Baptist.

Rylee Walters, Salmon River: Erupted for 37 points in a 64-59 win over La Grande, Oregon, and finished the week averaging 23 points, 5.7 rebounds, four assists, 2.3 steals and 2.7 blocks.
