Borah High’s Christianson wins Gatorade track award
Sara Christianson of Borah High was honored as the 2015-16 Gatorade Idaho Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year on Thursday.
The senior distance runner won two individual state titles in May, setting overall meet records in the 1,600 meters in 4 minutes, 53.86 seconds and the 3,200 in 10:36.
She added a second-place finish in the 800 (2:16.26), helping the Lions take fourth as a team.
“Sara Christianson is very dedicated to her success in track and field,” Borah head coach Jeremy Dovel said. “She is an inspiring runner who helps others around her be better, and her performances motivate others to improve.”
Christianson has signed to compete for Oregon State beginning this fall.
