Two future Boise State golfers win Dropping Junior Championship

Vallivue High’s Connor Johnstone and Jalayne Martinez of Richland, Wash., claimed the boys and girls titles Tuesday at the Dropping Junior Golf Championship at BanBury Golf Course. Both are Boise State signees who begin their college careers in the fall.

Johnstone shot a 2-over 73 in the final round to overtake Blake Tomlinson and finished at an even-par 213 through three rounds.

Martinez fired a 78 during the final round, hanging on to edge Lexi Perry by two strokes at 14-over 227.
