Eagle’s Fillmore repeats as Idaho Gatorade softball player of the year
Eagle High senior Bradie Fillmore won her second straight Gatorade Idaho Softball Player of the Year award Thursday.
Fillmore, a 5-7 senior signed with Cal, led Eagle to a 29-0 season, back-to-back 5A state championships and a No. 1 national ranking in a pair of polls.
The right-handed pitcher and shortstop posted a 13-0 record in the circle with a 0.49 ERA and 155 strikeouts in 71 innings. At the plate, she hit .641 with 14 home runs and 57 RBIs.
“Bradie Fillmore is without a doubt an outstanding softball player,” Columbia coach Kerri Pline said in a release. “She is composed and precise, and her pitches are fast and move well. Her bat is also phenomenal. She hit two home runs in one game, and I have never seen a high school girl hit balls that high and that far.”
As the Idaho player of the year, Fillmore is eligible for Gatorade’s national player of the year award.
