Eagle softball’s Fillmore up for national player of the year award
Senior pitcher/shortstop Bradie Fillmore is one of 15 players named to the CBS MaxPreps National Softball Player of the Year watch list Thursday.
Fillmore was the MaxPreps junior of the year in 2015 and has the undefeated Mustangs in line for a second straight 5A state title when play begins Friday at Bonneville High in Idaho Falls.
The Cal signee has a 0.60 ERA with six no-hitters and 10 shutouts while batting .676 for the top-ranked Mustangs (26-0).
MOUNTAIN HOME WRESTLING: Assistant Scott Mederios was promoted to head coach. The former Boise State wrestler replaces Lynn Knudson, who retired after 23 seasons.
