Big day for two Mountain View High seniors
Two Mountain View High senior athletes had an impact on the national stage Friday:
▪ Destiny Slocum started at point guard in the West’s 100-94 victory over the East in the Jordan Brand Classic on Friday at the Barclays Center in New York. Slocum, a Maryland signee, scored seven points with two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 20 minutes of playing time in the national all-star game.
▪ Adrian Jones won the boys 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Oregon Relays on Friday at Hayward Field in Eugene. Jones’ time of 9 minutes, 34.38 seconds is the fastest prep time in the nation this season, according to athletic.net.
