Rocky Mountain High senior runs nation’s fastest 800 meters

Michael Slagowski wrapped up a dominant indoor track and field season with a national title in the 800 meters last month in New York.

On Friday night at Centennial High, the Rocky Mountain senior continued to impress. Slagowski won the 800 at the Pulse Invitational in 1 minute, 48.70 seconds, giving him the nation’s fastest time in the event this season, according to athletic.net.

“It was definitely tough the last 300, especially with going out a lot faster than I am used to,” said Slagowski, who has signed with Penn State.

“I’ve been training for this, so it’s nice to know that my training is where I want it to be at.”
