Help us choose the best of the best in the latest Idaho Statesman boys and girls track athlete of the week contest.

You can vote multiple times. This is meant to be a fun way to show support for athletes. This is not meant to be scientific.

Nominations are submitted by area coaches or taken from stats reported to the Idaho Statesman.

GIRLS TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Leah Ray, Victory Charter: Finished with four golds at the 2A District Three championships at Parma High, winning the 100 hurdles (15.19) and 300 hurdles (44.36) and running the anchor leg on the Vipers’ 4x100 relay (44.36) and 4x200 relay (1:48.92). Her hurdles times were school and district meet records.

Paisley Badejo, Nampa: Swept the 100 hurdles (15.87) and 300 hurdles (46.50) with personal-best times at the 5A District Three championships at Vallivue High in Caldwell. She was also part of the Bulldogs’ third-place 4x400 relay (4:17.82).

Kenadee Gifford, Emmett: Set personal bests in winning the 100 (12.50) and 200 (25.92) at the 5A District Three championships at Vallivue High in Caldwell. She also ran a leg on the Huskies’ winning 4x100 relay (50.48) and runner-up 4x200 relay (1:47.72).

Emilee Suarez, Caldwell: Won the discus with a personal-best throw of 130-2 and also finished fourth in the shot put (36-5) at the 6A District Three championships at Meridian High.

Charlotte Dunn, Cascade: Cleared 4-10 to win the high jump at the 2A District Three championships at Parma High. She also placed third in the long jump (15-2.25) and ran legs on the Ramblers’ third-place medley relay (2:04.81) and fourth-place 4x100 relay (57.01).

Nadja Burkholder, Timberline: Established the meet record and a personal best in the triple jump with a distance of 39-5.25 at the 6A District Three championships at Meridian High. She also placed fourth in the long jump (17-9.25) with another personal best.

Audrey Orme, Boise: Set a meet record in winning the 3,200 in 10:46.79 at the 6A District Three championships at Meridian High. She also finished second in the 1,600 (5:05.52), third in the 800 (2:14.21) and ran a leg on the Brave’s winning 4x800 relay (9:25.55).

Kami Clayton, Mountain View: Won the shot put with a personal-best throw of 43-11, breaking the meet record at the 6A District Three championships at Meridian High. She also placed sixth in the discus (118-8).

Eden Francis, Capital: Claimed the javelin with a throw of 123-3, finished second in the long jump (18-2.75), tied for first in the 100 hurdles (14.89) and ran a leg on the Eagles’ runner-up 4x100 relay (48.12).

Carlie Warriner, Cole Valley Christian: Finished with four first-place medals, winning the 100 (12.77), 200 (26.29), 4x100 relay (50.64) and 4x200 relay (1:47.20) at the 4A District Three championships at Weiser High.

BOYS TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Santiago Pena, Victory Charter: Placed first in the 1,600 (4:44.00) and 3,200 (10:33.08) at the 2A District Three championships at Parma High.

Gavin Kolb, Centennial Baptist: Ran the anchor leg on the Mustangs’ winning 4x100 relay (44.73) and placed third in both the 100 (11.53) and 200 (23.53) at the 2A District Three championships at Parma High.

Finley Wilkins, Cascade: Won the high jump with a personal-best clearance of 6-0, took second in the long jump (19-11.5) and ran a leg on the Ramblers’ runner-up medley relay (3:48.55) at the 2A District Three championships at Parma High.

Trev Larson, Eagle: Set a school record, personal best and new Idaho No. 1 with his win in the 300 hurdles (37.66) at the 6A District Three championships at Meridian High. He also placed second in the 110 hurdles (14.35) and ran the anchor leg on the Mustangs’ third-place 4x200 relay (1:27.63).

Elliot Schrack, Capital: Established a meet record with his win in the javelin (169-8) and ran a leg on the Eagles’ winning 4x100 relay (42.11) at the 6A District Three championships at Meridian High.

Quinton Williams, Boise: Finished first in the 200 (21.49) and 400 (47.59) and ran legs on the Brave’s winning 4x200 relay (1:26.29) and 4x400 relay (3:19.17) at the 6A District Three championships at Meridian High.

Tatteham Burnham, Rocky Mountain: Swept the shot put (55-10) and discus (164-0) at the 6A District Three championships at Meridian High.

Jackson Laird, Weiser: Ran to victory in the 100 (10.99) and 200 (22.02) in personal-best times at the 4A District Three championships at Weiser High. He also ran legs on the Wolverines’ runner-up 4x100 relay (42.97) and 4x400 relay (3:29.63).

Charlie Speirs, McCall-Donnelly: Dominated the distance races with wins in the 800 (1:56.82), 1,600 (4:36.14) and 3,200 (9:39.72) at the 4A District Three championships at Weiser High. He also ran a leg on the Vandals’ third-place 4x400 relay (3:32.96).

Elias Mack, Nampa Christian: Finished first in the 100 (11.02), 200 (22.59), 110 hurdles (15.24) and 4x100 relay (43.11) at the 3A District Three championships at Parma High.
