Help us choose the best of the best in the latest Idaho Statesman boys and girls track athlete of the week contest.

Polls close at noon Wednesday. Read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

You can vote multiple times. This is meant to be a fun way to show support for athletes. This is not meant to be scientific.

Nominations are submitted by area coaches or taken from stats reported to the Idaho Statesman.

GIRLS TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Sylvia Wells, Nampa: Ran a pair of personal bests, placing fifth in the 100 (12.92) and third in the 200 (26.62) at the 28th annual Canyon County Championships at Ridgevue High. She also ran a leg on the Bulldogs’ fourth-place 4x400 relay (4:24.08).

Leah Ray, Victory Charter: Set a school record in the 100 with a winning time of 12.81 and took second in the 800 in a season-best 2:32.47 at the 2A Western Idaho Conference Championships at Northwest Nazarene University. She also placed second in the javelin (84-3).

Kate Ellsworth, Cascade: Ran a personal best and set the school record in the 1,600 with a winning time of 5:25.40 at the Probst-Walker Invitational at Emmett High.

Eden Francis, Capital: Broke two school records, and set personal bests, in winning the javelin (130-6) and long jump (18-6) at the Boise City Meet at Timberline High. She also ran a leg on the Eagles’ school-record-setting 4x100 relay (46.53) and won the 100 hurdles (14.95).

Claire Matthews, Weiser: Swept the 800 (2:30.50), 1,600 (5:47.78) and 3,200 (12:03.42) and ran a leg on the Wolverines’ runner-up medley relay (2:02.68) at the Mile High Meet at McCall-Donnelly High.

Olyvia Denison, Payette: Remained unbeaten this season in the triple jump with a distance of 37-0 and won the long jump (16-1.5) at the Probst-Walker Invitational at Emmett High.

Avery Reece, Nampa Christian: Ran a personal-best 14.60 to win the 100 hurdles, and added a win in the long jump (17-6.25) and a runner-up finish in the 100 (12.25), at the 28th annual Canyon County Championships at Ridgevue High.

Elly Burdick, Owyhee: Won the 800 (2:18.76) and 1,600 (5:08.85) with lifetime bests and ran a leg on the Storm’s runner-up 4x400 relay (4:00.42) at the Eagle Twilight Classic at Eagle High.

Lilly Stebbins, Mountain View: Finished with three wins at the Eagle Twilight Classic, claiming the 300 hurdles (46.29) and high jump (5-4), plus running a leg on the Mavericks’ winning 4x400 relay (3:55.55).

Aliceann Hilleshiem, Eagle: Took first in the long jump (17-1.5) and triple jump (36-9) and added a third-place showing in the 100 hurdles (15.89) at the Eagle Twilight Classic.

BOYS TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Alec Campos, Homedale: Broke a pair of meet records at the Lynn Behrman Invitational at Parma High, winning the 400 in 48.73 and running a leg on the Trojans’ winning 4x400 relay (3:29.48).

Gavin Kolb, Centennial Baptist: Won the 200 in a personal-best 23.38 and anchored the Mustangs’ winning 4x100 relay (44.36) at the 2A Western Idaho Conference Championships at Northwest Nazarene University.

Jevaun Foreman, Capital: Established a lifetime best of 22-1.5 to win the long jump and ran the opening leg of the Eagles’ 4x100 relay that set a meet record of 42.12 at the Boise City Championships at Timberline High.

Finley Wilkins, Cascade: Cleared 5-10 to finish second in the high jump at the Probst-Walker Invitational at Emmett High. He cleared the same height again to win the high jump at the Lynn Behrman Invitational at Parma later in the week.

Kage Stokes, McCall-Donnelly: Claimed three events at the Mile High Meet at McCall-Donnelly High, winning the 200 (23.37) and 400 (51.37) and running a leg on the Vandals’ winning 4x200 relay (1:33.50).

Ian Johnson, Nampa Christian: Placed first in the 400 (49.43) and 300 hurdles (39.57) and ran a leg on the Trojans’ winning 4x400 relay (3:28.15) at the 28th annual Canyon County Championships at Ridgevue High.

Trev Larson, Eagle: Swept the 110 (14.35) and 300 hurdles (38.90) at the Eagle Twilight Classic at Eagle High. He also ran legs on the Mustangs’ second-place 4x200 relay (1:29.25) and third-place 4x400 relay (3:23.40).

Behr Scott, Mountain View: Ran to a victory in the 200 (21.70) and ran legs on the Mavericks’ winning 4x100 relay (41.90) and 4x200 relay (1:28.59) at the Eagle Twilight Classic at Eagle High.

Alan Navarro, Caldwell: Placed first in the 800 in a personal-best 1:59.49 and won the 1,600 (4:29.51) at the 28th annual Canyon County Championships at Ridgevue High.

Ezekiel Van Hofwegen, Fruitland: Swept the long jump (21-6) and triple jump (42-3) at the Probst-Walker Invitational at Emmett High.
