Nominations are submitted by area coaches or taken from stats reported to the Idaho Statesman.
GIRLS TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Libby Stockett, Victory Charter: Opened the season with a school record in the 1,600, clocking a time of 5:24.57 at the Trojan Ice Breaker. She also placed third in the 400 and ran a leg on the Vipers’ second-place 4x400 relay.
Kennedy Fitch, Fruitland: Won the 100 hurdles (16.97) and 300 hurdles (48.22) and finished second in the long jump (15-9) at the Battle For Payette County at New Plymouth High.
Morgan Nicoletti, Homedale: Placed first in the 100 (13.28) and pole vault (11-6) — both with personal bests — and added a runner-up finish in the 300 hurdles (49.58) at the Trojan Ice Breaker.
Joey Prescott, Marsing: Set personal bests in the shot put (33-0) and javelin (90-1.5), winning the events at the Trojan Ice Breaker while adding a second-place showing in the discus (95-7).
Josie Johnson, New Plymouth: Swept the 800 (2:41.3) and 1,600 (5:55.99) at the Battle For Payette County at New Plymouth High.
Olyvia Denison, Payette: Claimed the triple jump (34-7.25), long jump (16-8) and high jump (4-10) at the Battle for Payette County at New Plymouth High.
BOYS TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Zeke Van Hofwegen, Fruitland: Collected four wins at the Battle for Payette County at New Plymouth High, winning the 100 (10.99), 200 (22.74), long jump (22-5) and triple jump (42-6).
Anthony Fugate, Payette: Ran to a win in the 400 (52.83), placed second in the 200 (23.89) and was fourth in the 100 (11.79) at the Battle for Payette County at New Plymouth High.
Gabe Howard, New Plymouth: Ran a personal-best 5:10.73 to win the 1,600 and added a runner-up finish in the 3,200 in another personal-best time of 10:52.48 at the Battle for Payette County at New Plymouth High.
Elias Mack, Nampa Christian: Won the 100 (11.16), 300 hurdles (40.53) and ran legs on the Trojans’ winning 4x200 (1:30.86) and 4x400 (3:32.87) relays at the Trojan Ice Breaker.
Kayden Barrett, Homedale: Swept the shot put (43-11.5) and discus (142-7.5) at the Trojan Ice Breaker at Nampa Christian.
Kameron Diedrich, Greenleaf: Placed first in the 300 hurdles (47.40) and ran a leg on the Grizzlies’ winning 4x400 relay (4:21.76) while also adding a third-place showing in the 4x100 relay (52.78) at the Battle for Payette County at New Plymouth High.
