4A All-Idaho boys soccer team: The top players from the state’s smallest schools

Note: The All-Idaho teams are chosen by each classification’s coaches. The Idaho Statesman hosts the voting process and publishes the results.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Mattis Macmillan

Coeur d’Alene Charter, sr., GK

The 6-foot-2 “menace” in net commanded an elite defense, keeping everyone organized and connected. He swatted away any threats that got through, posting an all-class-leading 17 shutouts and allowing just two goals in 19 games, including none vs. 4A opponents.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Craig Daigle

Coeur d’Alene Charter

He guided the program, in its seventh year, to an 18-1-0 record and its first state championship.

FIRST TEAM

Cesar Muralles

Wendell, sr., F

The 2024 player of the year’s technical skill, vision and leadership led to 14 goals and a 4A-best 20 assists.

Eli Arndt

McCall-Donnelly, so., F

His lateral moves and breakaway speed led the Vandals to a second-place trophy with 17 goals and seven assists in 17 games.

Chance Smedley

Marsh Valley, sr., F

The winger posed a threat all over the field, racking up 18 goals in 13 games. He even scored on an opening kickoff.

Taylor Smith

Coeur d’Alene Charter, jr., M

The Panthers’ “rock” in the midfield often shadowed opponents’ top threat while contributing nine goals and 15 assists.

Sebastian Carheden

McCall-Donnelly, sr., M

The center mid regularly found the crucial pass to unlock defenses, finishing 16 assists while adding six goals.

Cesar Camargo

Wendell, sr., M

The repeat first-team pick and his lethal right foot made him a perennial threat, leading to 25 goals and nine assists.

Liam Hughes

Coeur d’Alene Charter, sr., D

A brick wall at center back, no one wanted to see Hughes (nine goals, six assists) charging forward either.

Creighton LeHosit

Coeur d’Alene Charter, jr., D

The center back served as the vocal leader and brains of a defense that allowed two goals in 19 games.

Kage Stokes

McCall-Donnelly, sr., D

The 6-5 center back was a nightmare on set pieces, scoring four of his five goals off corner kicks.

Bryon Bushman

South Fremont, sr., D

The three-year captain racked up 15 goals and 18 assists while serving as the backbone of the Cougars’ defense.

Brian Orozco

Wendell, sr., GK

He posted 11 clean sheets in 21 games, and his ball skills helped the Trojans build from the back.
