Idaho high school sports reporters released their first statewide rankings of the season Tuesday afternoon, taking a stab at the preseason favorites from the 6A to 1A classification. See the full rankings below.

But before you skip ahead, it’s worth asking how accurate these predictions are?

Well, the preseason state media poll correctly predicted 3-of-6 state champions last fall. It ranked 7-of-12 state finalists as either a preseason No. 1 or a No. 2. And every team that played in a state championship game appeared in last year’s preseason poll.

Not too shabby, if you ask me.
