Idaho state tennis tournaments: Boise-area teams sweep 6A, 5A, 4A team titles
Treasure Valley teams cleaned up at the Idaho high school tennis state tournaments Saturday, sweeping the team trophies in every classification and winning 10 of the 15 available individual titles.
The Timberline boys repeated as the 6A team champ with 37 points, while Eagle went back-to-back as the 6A girls champ with 53 points.
Bishop Kelly took home the boys and girls titles at the 5A level. And in 4A, the Weiser boys and Fruitland girls completed the clean sweep.
The Treasure Valley also dominated the 6A individual titles, winning four of the five events. Eagle’s Sophia Jacobs took home the girls singles championship, and teammates Colton Symes and Riann Osborne joined her atop the podium as the top mixed doubles pair in the state.
Boise’s girls doubles pair of Alison Turcke and Heidi McMillan didn’t drop a game all tournament. And the Timberline boys doubles pair of Cooper Simon and Austin Avery made an underdog run to a championship as the tournament’s No. 4 seed.
