BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Caleb Zawadzki, Eagle: Earned the win by holding Highland to one run on four hits while striking out eight in six innings. He also went 2-for-3 with a double and triple in a loss to Skyview.

Everett Lynn, Timberline: Started the season 10-for-15 with four doubles and four RBIs in four games.

Dante Brinegar, Ridgevue: Went 4-for-6 and reached base six times in his first two games, and threw 1 ⅓ scoreless innings against Skyview.

Cooper Crutcher, Vallivue: Pitched a five-inning, complete-game, two-hit shutout and struck out 13 in a 13-0 win vs. Meridian.

James Rodriguez, Columbia: Opened the season 5-for-10 with four RBIs and eight runs scored in four games.

Trevan Plew, Skyview: Threw five, no-hit innings and struck out two in a 5-0 win over Mountain Home.

Nate Grosvenor, Fruitland: Went 6-for-9 with four doubles, a home run and nine RBIs to lead Fruitland to a 3-0 start to the season.

Chance Martell, Homedale: Led the Trojans to a 3-0 start by going a combined 7-for-10 with two doubles, nine RBIs and four stolen bases. He also pitched four scoreless innings and struck out four to earn a win vs. South Fremont.

Carson Kile, Cole Valley Christian: Pitched a seven-inning, one-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in a 5-0 win vs. Grangeville. He also threw a scoreless inning vs. Columbia, and went 4-for-11 with two RBIs in four games.

Sam Hultman, Parma: Threw seven combined innings in two wins over Emmett, holding the Huskies to one unearned run on five hits with 11 strikeouts.

Riley Schaefer, Nampa Christian: Struck out 14 in a seven-inning, one-hit shutout to lead the Trojans to a 5-0 win over Weiser.

Trey Martiny, Idaho City: Went 6-for-10 with three doubles, seven RBIs and eight stolen bases in three games.
