BASEBALL

Caleb Zawadzki, Eagle: The sophomore helped the Mustangs begin the season 2-0 with wins over Bishop Kelly and Rocky Mountain. He finished the week 5-for-6 at the plate with three singles, one double, one triple and four RBIs. He also earned a win on the mound, working four innings with three hits, one walk and seven strikeouts.

Payton Fine, Homedale: In a doubleheader sweep of Baker (Ore.), Fine went 6-for-8 at the plate with a double, triple, six RBIs and five runs scored. He also earned a complete-game win, going seven innings with two hits, one run (unearned), one walk and six strikeouts. Of his 85 pitches, 54 were strikes.

Jaden Belton, Centennial: Helped the Patriots to a 3-1 week by going 11-for-13 at the plate with eight singles, three doubles, five runs scored and four RBIs. He also earned a 14-3 win over Canyon Ridge, allowing just two hits and one run with four strikeouts.

Teague Fox, North Star Charter: The Huskies enjoyed a 4-0 start to the season as Fox collected a win and a save on the mound. He went four innings in a 12-1 win over Glenns Ferry, allowing two hits, one run (unearned), zero walks and eight strikeouts. He then earned a save in a 2-1 victory over McCall-Donnelly, getting the final two outs without giving up a hit or a run while striking out one.

Lucas Skinner, Owyhee: Earned the victory in an 8-0 shutout of Ridgevue, lasting three innings without allowing a hit or a run while striking out five. He also went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Hunter Christensen, Columbia: Pushed the Wildcats’ record to 4-0, totaling five hits, one triple, five RBIs and four runs scored. He also picked up the win in a 5-4 victory over Boise.

Jackson Edwards, Kuna: Guided the Kavemen to a 13-0 shutout of Nampa, lasting five innings on the mound with four hits, no runs, one walk and nine strikeouts. He also went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBIs.

Carson Lupton, Mountain View: Recorded at least one hit in all five of the Mavericks’ games last week, finishing 8-for-17 at the plate (.471) with three doubles and five RBIs.

Blake Wilson, Cole Valley Christian: Led the Chargers to three wins last week, going 6-for-10 (.600) at the plate with three doubles and three RBIs. He also earned the win in a 16-6 victory over Firth, allowing one hit and three runs (unearned) with three strikeouts.

Brady Robinson, Borah: Recorded at least one hit in all four of the Lions’ games last week, finishing 5-for-13 (.385) with a triple, four RBIs and six runs scored from the leadoff position. He also earned a victory in an 11-0 shutout of Vallivue, throwing a complete game with just two hits, one walk and seven strikeouts.
