2A All-Idaho baseball team: All-state teams honors the top players from all around Idaho
Note: The All-Idaho teams are chosen by each classification’s coaches. The Idaho Statesman hosts the voting process and publishes the results.
2A ALL-IDAHO PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Alex Vasquez
Firth, sr., SS/C/P
A first-team pick last year, Vasquez took the player of the year honors as a potent two-way threat. The right-hander went 7-1 with a 1.37 ERA and .097 batting average against on the mound. And the switch hitter also hit .397 and went 22-for-22 on stolen base attempts.

Orofino
He led the Maniacs to a 21-6 record and a third-place finish at the state tournament, Orofino’s first trophy since 2016.
FIRST TEAM
Brayden Schaefer
Nampa Christian, so., P
The sophomore led the Trojans back to the state finals, posting a 5-1 record with a 1.24 ERA, 75 strikeouts and a .139 batting average against.
Drew Hanna
Orofino, jr., P
The right-hander led 2A in wins (nine) and complete games (six), posting a 1.16 ERA and racking up 65 strikeouts in 48 ⅓ innings.
Stetson Higley
Malad, sr., P
The Lassen (Calif.) CC commit led the Dragons to a state title, going 5-2 with a 1.12 ERA, 62 strikeouts and a .129 batting average against.
Silas Naranjo
Orofino, jr., C
The 5-4 backstop constantly put the game in motion as a leadoff hitter. He hit .366 with a .562 on-base percentage and 19 stolen bases.
Dax Maroney
Malad, sr., INF
The Dragons’ rock all year long, the shortstop had his best games against top pitchers, hitting .412 and stealing a 2A-leading 25 bases.
Ruger Nicholls
Challis-Mackay, jr., INF
A second-team pick last year, he hit .462 and led 2A in on-base percentage (.769), home runs (four) and slugging percentage (.954).
Kaden Mullins
Nampa Christian, so., INF
The Trojans’ defensive MVP, the shortstop hit .253 with 11 RBIs and nine stolen bases. He also went 4-1 with a 0.86 ERA and 80 strikeouts on the mound.
Zack Conlee
New Plymouth, sr., INF
The shortstop and Mayville State (NAIA) commit was the heart and soul of the Pilgrims, hitting .439 with a .619 on-base percentage and 21 RBIs.
Jaden Ward
Malad, sr., OF
He made the second-team last year. But after coming up in big situations all year and hitting .365 with 17 RBIs, he moves up to the first team.
Burton Park
Firth, sr., OF
The center fielder provided power (.575 slugging percentage), speed (19 stolen bases) and clutch hits (33 RBIs) to the state consolation champs.
Jadin Connell
Wendell, jr., OF
The lefty’s big arm and flexibility proved an asset to the Trojans. He hit .415, got on base at a .557 clip and drove in 23 runs.
