5A ALL-IDAHO PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Robert Orloski

Middleton, sr., P/SS/CF

Last year’s 4A player of the year had no trouble stepping up a classification, using a mid-90 mph fastball to post a 7-1 record with a 1.38 ERA and a 5A-leading 92 strikeouts in 56 innings. The UT San Antonio commit led 5A in batting average (.480) and slugging percentage (.740), and he stole an all class-leading 43 bases.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Russ Wright

Owyhee

The Storm could no longer sneak up on anyone. But he guided Owyhee through all the pressure for back-to-back state titles.

FIRST TEAM

Nick McDaniel

Owyhee, sr., P

The Storm turned to the Yakima Valley CC commit in big games, and the lefty delivered a 6-2 record with a 2.58 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 40 ⅔ innings.

Colby Chambers

Rocky Mountain, jr., P

The Grizzlies’ ace and lefty held opponents to a .148 batting average against, going 4-2 with a 2.10 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 39 ⅔ innings.

Bryce Stockton

Coeur d’Alene, sr., P

The Tacoma CC commit used an upper-80s fastball and offspeed speeches to go 4-1 with a 1.04 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 40 ⅓ innings.

Joe DuCoeur

Lake City, sr., C

The Chaminade commit hit .391 and drove in 24 runs, but his arm stole the show. Opponents often had to double-check his throw time down to second.

Treyton Swygart

Middleton, jr., INF

Teams often pitched around his light-tower power, but he still hit .346 with three home runs and 28 RBIs. He also went 7-0 with a 1.33 ERA on the mound.

Lance Anderson

Borah, sr., INF

A highlight reel waiting to happen at shortstop, Anderson allowed Borah pitchers to rest easy. The Columbia Basin CC commit also hit .354.

Cole Rohlmeier

Owyhee, sr., INF

Another Columbia Basin commit, he always found a way to come up in key moments on a young Owyhee squad, hitting .317 with 15 stolen bases.

Gunner Wilhelm

Highland, sr., INF

A repeat first-team pick, the Treasure Valley CC commit continued to rake, leading 5A in RBIs (31) while hitting .447 with a .569 on-base percentage.

Jack Barker

Mountain View, sr., OF

The College of Southern Idaho commit hurt opponents in multiple ways, hitting .372 with three home runs, 25 RBIs and 15 stolen bases.

Jack Ryan

Owyhee, sr., OF

A slump left him with a .282 batting average, a number many would kill for. But his elite speed remained the bane of any hitter looking for extra bases.

Chris Ricard

Lewiston, sr., OF

Opponents tried to pitch around him all year. But the Scottsdale CC commit still posted a .412/.537/.694 slash line with three home runs.
