Meridian volleyball ends season in quarantine
The Warriors can not compete in the upcoming district volleyball tournament due to a coronavirus quarantine, which will end their season early, Meridian coach Jo Hardin confirmed to the Idaho Statesman.
Meridian (0-7) hasn’t played a match since Oct. 1. It is the second known Treasure Valley volleyball team to have its season ended by a quarantine. Columbia had to cancel the rest of its season in the 4A SIC due to a quarantine that would run through its district tournament.
Boise-based Central District Health has warned more than 150 students in its region are currently under quarantine due to exposures from sports. It recommends pausing sports like football, volleyball, soccer, basketball and wrestling while Ada County remains in the highest category of community spread (red).
